The marriage of Miss Theresa Maria Smith, elder daughter of Mrs. Smith and the late W. D. F. Smith, Canning. to Mr. Herbert M. Erickson, Waltham, Mass., elder son of Mrs. Erickson and the late Melker Erickson, was celebrated at the Church of the Ascension, Waltham, Mass, Sunday afternoon, April 14, with Rev. Hugh W. Smith officiating. The bride presented a charming picture in a gown of powder blue crepe with corsage of pink roses and matching accessories. She was attended by Mrs. Roger MacBride, who wore a dress of blue with white accessories. Paul Carlson, Watertown, Mass., attended the groom.
The wedding was attended by the immediate relatives and close friends of the contracting parties. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the home of the groom’s mother, Mrs. Melker Erickson.
.Mr. and Mrs. Erickson, spent a few days honeymoon at the Hotel Manger, Boston, and will reside at Waltham.
Mrs. Smith, mother of the bride, was present at the wedding.
Theresa M. Erickson, 67, of 92 Albert Road, Auburndale, died Wednesday, April 1, 1981 at her home of asphyxia due to smoke inhalation. Before retiring she was a salesperson at the Grover Cronin department store in Waltham. A native of Nova Scotia, Canada, she lived in Waltham until moving to Newton 27 years ago.
She was the wife of Herbert M. Erickson, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs Herbert (Helen) White of Waltham and Mrs. William (Nancy) Cowan of Livermore, Calif.; five brothers, John, Archie, Robert and Edward Smith, all of Nova Scotia, and Seldon Smith of Toronto; a sister, Mrs Marian Keller of Manitoba, Canada; and six grandchildren.
