Smith S.C. Peter – 94, Passed away in Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston, Ont., on Thursday, November 16, 2000. Beloved husband of Flora Ann Reid, Green Briar, Alliston, Ont. Dear father of Peter Smith and wife Bonnie, David Smith and wife Carol. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Deborah and Donald Fox, Todd and Christine Smith, Allison and David Litz and his great-grandson Peter Fox. Dear brother of Fred, Edward and John Smith. He was predeceased by four brothers and two sisters. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Peter was born in Canning, Nova Scotia and Graduated from Acadia University. He started his career in 1923 with the Bank of Nova Scotia, Halifax. Peter worked theree for a number of years before he transferred to the Bank of Nova Scotia Head Office, Toronto, which would see him rise to the position of assistant manager. In 1947 Peter left the Bank of Nova Scotia to join the executive offices of George Weston Limited until his retirement in 1968. During his retirement Peter built a summer home in Mahone Bay, and enjoyed winters in Florida. In 1991 Peter moved to the Green Briar Community, Alliston where he enjoyed his last 9 years of this life. Peter will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be hled in W. John Thomas Funeral Home today, November 20, at 1 p.m. If so desired,, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
