LUNENBURG ? Robert Chester Smith, Sr., 81, of Lunenburg, died on Thursday in Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital Lunenburg. 
Born in Canning he was a son of the late Donald and Maude (Barkhouse) Smith.

He was a certified watchmaker and owned, and operated Himmelman’s Jewellery Ltd., until his retirement In 1957. In his earlier years he was a warden of St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg; a member of the Lunenburg Curling Club and served, on the, Boy Scout Council.

He is survived by his wife, the former Viola Webb; a daughter, Elaine (Mrs. Borden. Creaser), West LaHave; a son, Robert, Lunenburg; a sister, Marion (Mrs. Ken Keller), Winnipeg; five brothers, Edward, Nictaux; ,Arch, Berwick; Fred, Middleton; Seldon, Martin’s River, and John, Kentville; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by an Infant son, Clifford, a sister, Theresa, two brothers, Donald and Ralph.

The body is in the Dana L Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in St. John’s Anglican Church,
Lunenburg, Rev. Bruce Howe officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harbourview Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg or any other charity.

SMITH, Viola Estella -90, Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg, died Thurs- .. day, December 4, 1997, in the home. Born in Kingsport, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Sadie (Schofield) Webb. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Himmelman’s , Jewelers. She was a member of St. John’s C Anglican Church, Lunenburg; the ladies guild and the lODE of Lunenburg. She is survived by sisters, Ora Webb, Kentville; Erma Porter, Falmouth; stepsister.
