Thanks so much for your message. Sorry for the delayed reply. Been a bit under the weather this week.
I can tell you a little about my grandfather Adrian Erle Smith, Donald Fraser Smith’s third son. (He rarely spoke of his siblings and family in Nova Scotia, so unfortunately I have no information about where they are now.) He served in the Navy in the Second World War. I am not sure when he first arrived in BC but all of his kids were born and raised here. He was married to my grandmother, Beverley, for 60 years. Their first son, my dad, was born in 1949. They had two more sons and a daughter in the early-mid 1950s, all of whom eventually married and had kids of their own too. I would tell you more about them, but as they are all still living, I will understandably need to get their permission to put their information out there first. I can tell you that there are 10 of us grandchildren, born in the 1970s and 80s, and now, 9 great-grandchildren aged between 2 and 10. Almost all of us grew up and currently live in the greater Vancouver area. The exception is my brother who grew up here, but married a wonderful Australian lady and moved to northern Queensland, and two years ago their baby son became the first of our Smiths, that I know of, to be born in Australia.
Grandpa was a very good decent guy, smart and witty with a great sense of humour. The whole family will always remember him fondly. Sadly he passed away a few short months after his & my grandmother’s 60th wedding anniversary in 2009. Adrian Erle Smith
SMITH Adrian Erle Adrian passed away peacefully June 30th at Delta Hospital surrounded by family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Beverley; 4 children, Clive (Karen), Dorion (Sandra), Laurie (Lyle) and Adrian (Adelle); 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. No service by request. Cremation.
